The Rev. Dr. Bruce Baxter was appointed as Southeast District Superintendent in 2017. Previously he served 35 years under appointment in a variety of roles: as a student, a pastor to local congregations in various settings (including a church plant) and as Conference Director of Congregational Development. Bruce has an M.Div (Asbury), Th.M. (Covenant) and Ph.D. (SLU). His primary responsibilities revolve around supporting the ministry of clergy and lay leaders as they form vital congregations to lead people to an active faith in Jesus Christ. He and his wife Audrey have two married adult children and a granddaughter. His hobbies include running, motorcycling, flying small planes and backpacking.

Lisa has been a part of the Southeast District’s administrative ministry team since 2016, serving as the administrative assistant. She thoroughly enjoys working with the pastors and laity of the local churches. Lisa is an active member of the Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Connectional Structure (PAUMCS). She and her husband, David, have two grown children, one granddaughter and a new grandbaby on the way. Her children and grandchildren all currently live in the Kansas City area.

Bev has been a part of the Southeast District’s administrative ministry team since 2002. Throughout the years she has served in the Southeast Office as administrative assistant and is currently the executive assistant. Her main goal is to utilize her gifts to help those who God places before her. Bev is an active member of the Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Connectional Structure (PAUMCS) and received her professional certification in 2006. She and her husband, Brad, have three grown daughters and six granddaughters that live in the southeast Missouri area.
